The ESPA Biomedical multidisciplinary team reflects more than 100 years of cumulative experience in biomedical sciences, product development, regulatory and legal affairs as well as marketing and sales.

Sami Y. Shahin, RPh
CEO

Sami Shahin holds an RPh degree and has long-time experience in the biotechnology field focusing on pharmaceuticals, herbal and natural products and medical devices. He has in-depth understanding of pharmaceutical fields, their evolution and emerging trends. He has experience in the development of strategic partnerships between leading Israeli pharmaceutical companies and has evidence of strong intra-organizational communication skills and leadership of trans-organizational  processes.He demonstrates project management skills including managing suppliers and sub-contractors. Mr. Shahin has introduced innovative products on the Israeli and Middle East markets, where he has extensive connections.
       
His professional activities include direction of pharmacies in Israel and business coordination for Israel of foreign pharmaceutical companies as well as responsibility for international affairs of the Israel Pharmaceutical Society.  He has access to state-of-the art manufacturing facilities of herbal and natural products and served as Chief Pharmacist, and as coordinator of the medical products and new technologies commission in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
 
 
Alf Fischbein, MD
Medical Director
 
Prof. Fischbein is an international authority in Preventive Medicine - Occupational and Environmental Health. A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Lund, Sweden, he was an Associate Professor during two decades at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine of the City University of New York. He has also been Visiting Professor at Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. He pioneered the development and application of an innovative diagnostic device for lead poisoning and iron deficiency anemia. Moreover, he has been a member of teams designing and performing clinical trials of pharmaceuticals particularly in the field of immune health and dermatology and has long experience in conducting clinical field surveys and large-scale population-based epidemiological studies. He has served on several expert committees of various agencies including the US Environmental Protection Agency, US Department of Labor, International Labour Office and International Metalworkers Federation.
 
Current interest and research focuses on innovative herbal and natural products and remedies against diseases associated with inflammation such as skin disorders, metabolic and neurodegenerative diseases.
                                                  
He collaborates with two business development companies in the biotechnology sector focusing on developing the global potential and value of biotechnology business. Prof. Fischbein is a member of the International Task Force for Children’s Environmental Health, currently assessing the feasibility of applying innovative herbal-based and natural products on a global scale in safeguarding normal development of children at risk for central nervous system damage due to toxic environmental exposures.
 
 
 
Harel Peleg L.L.B, L.L.M,
General Counsel

Mr. Peleg, Esq. has more than 14 years of experience gained while working for Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., a leading global company in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. During his career at Teva, Mr. Peleg served as a Senior Corporate Legal Consultant and as General Counsel and Board Member in Teva Israel.

He supported top management and business development in local and global activities and has substantial experience in negotiations and execution of complex legal, regulatory and business aspects of the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.

In addition, Harel has been involved in business establishment and fundraising for companies on a global basis.
Mr. Peleg holds a law degree from Buckingham University, England where he also received his master’s degree in international law. He is also CEO of S.K.D Management & Investment.
 

Eli Cohen
VP Marketing and Sales
Eli Cohen is a business development and innovative solutions provider with over 30 years' experience. He is the founder and CEO of Smart Trade Ltd., who holds an exclusive distribution agreement with the International Pharmaceutical Federation in Israel, covering over 600 private pharmacies. The agreement also includes the pharmacies’ business development. The company has also a partnership with two of the leading Israeli marketing and trade websites providing exposure to over one million potential consumers.
 
Mr. Cohen has served as CEO of Promedico Ltd., a subsidiary of Neopharm Ltd, a company with 650 employees, generating over 2 billion NIS income. He interacted with leading companies included Johnson & Johnson, Abbott and Reckitt Benckieser, and was responsible for the introduction of brand names such as Advil, Listerine, Durex, and Similac on the Israeli market.

Additional professional experiences include Associate Managing Director of Sales at Neopharm Ltd., medical representative at Novartis as a clinical trial manager and sales manager at one of the largest leading merchandisers of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics in Israel.
 
 
 
Khaled Khold, BA, ND
NPH Director
 
Mr. Khold is a specialist and recognized authority in herbal and naturopathic medicine with long experience in successfully developing innovative natural health products and entering such products on international markets.  He has planned, conducted and managed a variety of projects in the biotechnology sector demonstrating great organizational skills.
 
A graduate of Haifa University, Israel, and Benns International College, Toronto, Canada, he also graduated the Naturopathic Medicine program at Reidman International College for Complementary and Integrative Medicine, Haifa, Israel.
 
Mr. Khold has managed a start-up company manufacturing and distributing natural health products carrying overall responsibilities such as office organization, locating supplies, advertisement, distribution and sales.
 
Mr. Khold is the founder and manager of Natural Touch, a research and development company focusing on herbal formulas against diabetes and skincare products for the treatment of skin disorders, including chronic inflammatory diseases as well as for maintaining a healthy skin. Products have been distributed in Israel, Canada and Jordan. Mr. Khold also provides clinical services and is the company’s principal expert regarding product development and formulations. His extensive expertise is currently greatly benefitting the company’s programs in research and development, formulation of innovative products as well as international marketing and sales.
